After years of wear and recent storm exposure, a home in White Plains, MD, was in need of a full roofing system replacement. The existing roof had visible signs of aging, and a detailed inspection confirmed failing shingles and compromised decking. To restore protection and improve performance, a new GAF Timberline HDZ roofing system in Weathered Wood was installed, paired with a white aluminum drip edge and upgraded Snow Country ridge vents.
The roofing crew began with a full tear-off of the old system, removing all existing shingles and underlayment. Any rotted decking was replaced as needed, ensuring a solid foundation before installation. The new roof assembly included synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield, and premium GAF HDZ architectural shingles built to last. Each component was selected for durability and weather resistance, including matching hip and ridge caps to enhance airflow and curb appeal.
Attention to detail continued with the installation of flashing, pipe collars, and sealants to fully waterproof vulnerable areas. While only minor decking replacement was needed, every section was secured with industry-standard fasteners and sealed for long-term protection. All work was completed according to GAF’s strict installation guidelines to qualify the home for a lifetime material warranty.
In addition to the roof, the home’s gutter system was also upgraded. The old gutters and downspouts were removed and replaced with a new hidden hanger system, supported by a 5-year labor warranty for added reliability.
This exterior remodel in White Plains not only addressed storm-related wear it gave the homeowner a stronger, more efficient roofing system built to handle the seasons ahead. With expert installation and high-quality materials, the home is now ready for whatever weather comes next.
