At this home in Shady Side, MD, the roof and gutters had begun to show clear signs of wear after years of seasonal exposure. The homeowner reached out for a free inspection, wanting a comprehensive solution that would protect their home while also adding visual appeal.
After evaluating the condition of both the house and detached garage, we recommended a complete roof replacement and a full gutter system upgrade. The homeowner selected Owens Corning Duration shingles in Onyx Black—a bold, modern shingle that offers strength, depth, and long-lasting protection against wind and algae. Backed by a limited lifetime material warranty, these shingles are built to perform across all four seasons.
To improve ventilation and preserve roof health, DuraRidge ridge vents were installed along the ridgelines, supporting airflow and reducing attic heat and moisture. A clean white drip edge was added around the perimeter of the roofing system to guide runoff away from fascia and into the gutter system.
For the gutters, we installed a full system with LeafFilter DIR gutter guards, designed to reduce clogging and minimize seasonal maintenance. These guards protect the home from overflow issues while extending the life of the gutter system itself.
Additional work included a 5-year labor warranty on installation, plus credits for window screen and sign-related items as part of the complete restoration scope.
From tear-off to clean-up, this Shady Side property received a complete roofing and drainage solution tailored for long-term protection and everyday performance. The result: a home that looks refreshed and is built to take on the elements with confidence.
