In Essex, MD, the homeowner on Hilltop Lane decided it was time to upgrade their roof after years of weather exposure had diminished its ability to protect the home. The existing shingles had aged, and a free inspection confirmed that a full replacement would restore the home’s defense against the elements while improving its curb appeal.
The homeowner selected Owens Corning Duration shingles in Onyx Black, a bold, timeless color choice that delivers both visual impact and reliable performance. Known for their strength and durability, these shingles are backed by a 50-year lifetime material warranty and resist wind, algae, and moisture intrusion. To enhance airflow and extend the life of the roofing system, ProLine Over ridge vents were installed along the roofline, promoting healthy attic ventilation year-round.
This project also included interior repairs to the master bedroom, where insulation was replaced, the ceiling was primed and painted with two coats, and drywall damage was repaired. Additional updates were made to a guest room, including replacing insulation, repairing the drywall, and applying fresh paint for a clean finish.
All work was performed to Owens Corning’s manufacturer specifications, ensuring the roof qualified for full warranty coverage. The craftsmanship was backed by a 5-year labor warranty, offering the homeowner peace of mind for years to come.
