Years of exposure to weather had taken a toll—shingles were worn, ventilation was poor, and areas around the sunroom were starting to show signs of structural wear. The homeowner reached out looking for more than just a quick fix—they wanted a full roof replacement they could trust to last.
After a free inspection, the decision was made to move forward with a complete roofing system overhaul. The homeowner selected GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Charcoal, a top-tier architectural shingle known for its durability, wind resistance, and sleek curb appeal. This shingle was the perfect fit for a home that needed both strong protection and a refreshed appearance.
The roofing team began by carefully removing all existing shingles and underlayment, inspecting the decking underneath for damage. The sunroom section, in particular, needed extra attention—decking in this area was replaced to provide a strong, stable foundation for the new roof. Additional reinforcement was applied where rotten plank boards had started to compromise the structure. These proactive steps ensured the roof wouldn’t just look good on the surface, but perform reliably for years to come.
To complete the system, a black aluminum drip edge was installed around the perimeter, enhancing both edge protection and the roofline’s finished look. Snow Country ridge vents were installed to improve ventilation, allowing hot air and moisture to escape the attic space efficiently—an essential upgrade for reducing energy costs and preventing mold or rot. All materials were installed to meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, qualifying the roof for a 50-year material warranty and a 5-year labor warranty.
Throughout the project, the homeowner stayed informed and involved, with each step explained clearly and handled professionally. The installation was completed on time, and the job site was left clean and free of debris.
