In La Plata, MD, the homeowners on Hill Spring Drive decided it was time to replace their worn and weathered roof. Years of exposure to the elements had taken a toll, and a free inspection revealed the need for a complete roof replacement. They wanted a solution that would provide lasting durability, improve ventilation, and give their home a clean, updated look.
They selected Owens Corning Duration shingles in Onyx Black, a bold and timeless color that offers exceptional curb appeal and dependable performance. These shingles are backed by a lifetime material warranty, designed to withstand high winds, resist algae growth, and protect against the harsh effects of sun and rain. For improved airflow and extended roof life, DuraRidge ridge vents were installed along the ridgeline. A crisp white drip edge was added around the perimeter, helping to channel water away from the home while giving the roof a clean finish.
As part of the restoration, the team replaced 40 linear feet of downspout and 12.5 linear feet of fascia on the right elevation. They also replaced a window screen on the same elevation and completed interior repairs per the project scope, which included supplemental work to address insurance-approved items. All materials and workmanship were installed to manufacturer standards, ensuring the project qualified for full warranty coverage and was backed by a 5-year labor warranty for added peace of mind.
