For this Maryland home, the roof had reached a point where continued patchwork repairs were no longer effective. The homeowner wanted a complete system they could rely on—and that started with a professional inspection and a clear plan to replace the aging structure from top to bottom.
After walking through material options, they selected Owens Corning Duration shingles in Driftwood, a balanced, neutral-toned shingle known for strength, dimensional appeal, and long-term performance. To complement the design, an Almond/Desert Tan drip edge was installed along all roof edges, improving runoff and framing the shingle color beautifully.
To keep airflow consistent and help regulate attic temperature, the team installed DuraRidge ventilation along the roof’s ridgeline. This supports a longer roof life by reducing heat buildup and preventing moisture accumulation. The roof replacement also included a full tear-off, decking inspection, and new underlayment—all installed to meet manufacturer specifications for a 50-year limited lifetime warranty and backed by a 5-year labor warranty.
As part of the restoration scope, the project also included work on detached metal roofing sections and detailed documentation for any missed or damaged items to be supplemented through the appropriate insurance process. Every step was documented and installed according to local codes and Owens Corning guidelines.
This full roofing system is now in place—professionally installed, fully warrantied, and ready to protect the home for years to come.
