After the inspection, it was clear that a full roof replacement was the best path forward. The homeowner selected a GAF Timberline HDZ roofing system in Charcoal, known for its long-lasting durability, clean finish, and performance in the changing Maryland climate. This system was designed to not only refresh the home’s curb appeal but also add layers of protection that would last for decades.
The project began with the removal of the old roofing materials and a complete inspection of the decking underneath. Any compromised sections would be addressed with care. A black drip edge was installed to help move water efficiently off the roof while adding a crisp edge detail. To improve attic airflow and overall roof health, ridge ventilation was installed in line with GAF’s best practices, ensuring the system qualifies for its 50-year manufacturer warranty.
